2/1/25. Long day for sure; almost a 2-hour drive to the trailhead & a long trail mileage. The sun was out. No breeze especially on the initial steep ascent- that got us a real cardio workout. Then it got better as the cool light breeze started coming in as we cruised along the shaded areas & fire road. The wind picked up as we were getting near & by the tower. Enjoyed the expansive views of the mountain ranges while taking a break at the peak & photo ops. There's wooden signage- thanks to women's hiking club of L.E.(?). Large patches of snow was seen about half a mile before the tower; melting fast for sure & making the road damp which we liked so that it wasn't dusty at all even when off-roaders cruised by. I think we saw maybe 4 or 5 cars & 3 motorbikes. All observed road courtesy.
