We started at around 6:30 am, and by 8 am it was pretty hot for jackets. The terrain was difficult, not even, lots of rocks and debris but passable by foot. The elevation gain started right away and continued rapidly for about the fourth of the way. The rest was pretty steep as well. Some areas had a good, wide, even surface. We encountered one little gopher snake and one baby coyote on the way up. The views are spectacular from the point facing San Jacinto mountain and San Gorgonio pass. Once we almost reached the top we noticed that there were two patches of snow still around. Going back was not much of a reward for going up that I expected it to be: a lot of pressure on your knees, balance, and toes. By the end of the hike I barely had any water left in my half a gallon supply. The tiredness overwhelmed me for the rest of the day but the feeling accomplishment was stronger than ever!
