OMG the heat was intense! Did not plan to hike this in 105 degree weather!!! The last 3 miles were miserable as the heat beat down on me. Definitely suffered from Heat Exhaustion towards the end and barely made it back to the car. This hike should not be done in the heat, at least not 105 degree heat…! It's better to cancel and come back another day.
The trail itself is really easy to follow and a fire-road after the first 2 miles up Oak Grove. We could see the Apple fire from the trail as the smoke cloud continued to get bigger and bigger.
Overall nice trail and could be a better experience without the heat.
