Solo hiked the High Point and the parking was nearly empty with the exception of 3 cars. The first 2 miles were brutal and steep. Definitely took breaks and to lower my BPM. Met along a few hikers on the way up. This was a great hike up but on the way down was all mental toughness as the body is worn out.
With 1.5 miles left towards the end, I heard a scream from across the trail and noticed it was a stranded hiker who took the wrong turn and missed the 5 Oak Trail turnout. At that time, she already called local police for a rescue. Her name was Irene or Eileen as we were yelling across the canyon. The Helicopter arrived and circled numerous times. I kept conversating with her until help arrived. Once the Copter flew away I couldn't see her and yelled her name a few times with no reply back. I assumed rescue hikers got to her so I waited a lil more and went on my way.
If you are reading this, I was concerned and hope you are doing great.
