Completed San Diego 6-pack with High Point!! Long hike, but a good one (much more comfortable than El Cajon). Started at about 6:30. Cool and breezy the way up. Bugs only a nuisance through a short section. Got warm on hike down (into 80s), but we made good time. Finished just before 1:00. Great way to finish this challenge!

How were you able to hike it? We arrived by 7am with plans to do this hike, but a park ranger told us the forest-wide emergency closure order has been extened through September 22, 2021.
Well…we kinda found out the same thing…at the summit. We didn’t realize closure had been extended. Us and another couple hit the trail at just after 6am, and the ranger in the watch tower kindly informed us (he was really nice about it). Supposed to be re-opened on the 22nd.
