I would like to know what kind of good kush or crack some of these reviewers are smoking cause they are posting lies or they were hallucinating after the 2nd mile. Some reviews I read say after the 1st 2 brutal miles, its easy…lies. You wanna know how hard it was for me? My arms are sore. That's a lot of crawling (using trekking poles to pull myself up inclines).
I started out this hike solo on a Friday. At mile 4 I see some dude off roading up to the peak…a half hour later he's heading back down offers me a drink – i should have accepted cause I already drank half my water and he had a big ass cooler that I looked longingly at. I was eyeing that cooler like it was a piece of meat. Some dude who is now cool dude from LA informs me there is a female hiker ahead of me. ***I just learned my lazy ass could have just drove up to the tower entrance and hike .3 miles to the top.
Another half hour later Cool old dude from Sacramento riding a 250 comes up and chit chats with me. He wants to go to the Observatory, I show him on a map the trail we are on goes there and if its no longer a dirt road he can turn around. 20 minutes later he comes back and chats me up again. I show him i have ice cream that is not yet melted but i want to eat it at the top before it turns into milk. *** I have now also learned I can drive to the Palomar Observatory and hike a little over 2 miles to High Point.
I finally make it to the top! All that chit chatting got me hungry. I ate my chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and found the other hiker. She and I hiked back together. Met a new hiking buddy by hiking solo.

Sheryl, I just read all your post and I love reading them. Raw and funny. Hope to meet you on the trail someday.
Hi Dennis, Im out there every Saturday whining and complaining why my dumb ass got out of bed before the butt crack of dawn to hike alone when I could stay home and eat bon bons and watch movies. 😉
Hahaha. I know that feeling but I always feel better when I reach the summit.
Same here, we try to hike every Saturday. This weekend we are planning to do Mt Wilson. We signed up for 3 challenges (San Diego, SoCal & NorCal). We have 2 left for the SD challenge, High Point and El Cajon.
