With the fires happening in SoCal and left and right trail closures, I was able to focus on completing SD Challenge. It was concluded by the High Point hike. I was excited that there were 8 more people joined my Finale hike, consisted of the regulars and other new ones, most likely will be regulars as well
I missed hiking this last year and it felt like that it was my first time hiking this. With the recent rain and extreme low temp, halfway to the peak, snow started to materialize. Tha last mile has more snow on the fireroad but unusually no snow at all as soon as we entered the last gate all the way to the peak.
This area is mostly exposed and some areas that usually shaded hasn't started developing leaves from fall. But most of the time, breeze helped us with our journey in an otherwise agonizing uphill, especially the first 2miles.
I noticed that there's a wooden sign this time as well. Not sure if this is just recent but definitely the first time I'd seen it. Hopefully noone will destroy or steal it
