First annual first of the year hike up Mt StHelena from Hwy29. Also hiked up Oathill Mine Trail from Calistoga and The Palisades Trail (challenging, take extra water) across to Castle Rock and Hwy29. Palisades is a thicket at times, steep, lose the trail, rocky, an avalanche crossing, a waterfall crossing, exposed… basically great.
