Hit Corte Madera for Hike #1 of the San Diego Six Pack Peak Challenge. The weather was perfect, the parking was not. Was able to get the last spot close to the trailhead, but had a minor fear the entire hike that my car would be at he bottom of a ravine when I got back (Spoler Alert: it was totally fine)
This trail, except for the first 1/4 mile and a few other areas, is a narrow single track. Meeting people coming the opposite way requires at least one person to step into the brush on the side. Which brings me to a huge upside to this trail: manzanita! If you are a fan of manzanita like I am, this trail is for you!! So much gorgeous manzanita along the entire trail.
I did this trail last year and remember being more disoriented. You need to keep your eyes open to stay on the trail and not wander off on an intersecting trail. A GPS tracker is a big advantage.
The views at the top are just gorgeous! And as I said earlier, the weather was absolutely perfect!
