Started in the early afternoon. Weather and visibility were perfect. Parked at Rounds Rock and hiked up to Jones Nose Trail, then took the Appalachian Trail up to the summit. Total distance just over 10 miles. The trails were mostly dry and there were very few bugs. Mt. Greylock usually attracts quite a few visitors on weekends but there were only a handful of people at the summit (all hikers) because the auto road to the top is closed until May 22. Bascom Lodge is also closed until then. The Visitor's Center at the entrance to the park was also closed but bathrooms were accessible and trail maps were available.
