Started this hike early in the morning. It was a nice drive since there was no traffic. We were one of the few people at the trailhead when we arrived. We saw a couple of mountain bikers on the same trail as us. First we reached Mt. Pinos and saw a great view from up there. After a quick break, we continued onto Sawmill. You go down quite a ways before starting to go back up again. We initially passed the trail that leads to the peak, so we extended our hike by just a bit. But I didn't mind since it was a nice and peaceful area. Once we arrived at the top of Sawmill, we had the peak to ourselves. You could see the road down below that we drove up and it was cool to see how high we were. The hike back to the car was pretty tiring, at least on the uphill back to Pinos. But after that it was pretty easy. We started to see more people at this point and it was getting much warmer. Overall a nice hike that wasn't too crowded.
