We started around 6:30 am and it was really foggy and misty. We hiked most of the trail in cloudy weather and then actually in the clouds which created a lot of moisture. Sometimes it even felt like rain. Great weather though! No bugs which was amazing. The water along the bottom half was really peaceful to hike along. The trail was really easy to follow except for when the trail meets up with the mountain road. We thought the trail followed the mountain road to the top but that added on some distance. When we got to the top we walked to Echo Rock to take a pic with the Summit sign. We finally were above the clouds at that point. Mostly uphill all the way up. This was the hardest trail I have hiked so far. About 5,000 ft of elevation gain. One guy told us he saw a bear. We blew our whistles and rang a bell and didn’t see any.
