We started our hike before sunrise at around 5:30 am, but the parking (with restroom) at baldy bowl trailhead was already crowded. I would recommend to start even earlier, also due to extreme heat these days. We were lucky as it was cloudy most of the time, but still enjoyed a great view from the top. We did the whole loop clockwise, which gave us the best views and regular breaks (at the ski hut – with “bathroom”, at the summit and at the lodge – with cold drinks, free water and bathroom). Tracking poles were helpful way up and down.
