Warm sunny day but needed lots of hydration! My friend and I hiked from the Mitchell Canyon Staging Area up to Twin Peaks, Eagle Peak and Mt. Diablo summit. Stopped for a water refill (4L!) and ice cream at the visitor’s center (so worth it and much needed!! 😋). Lots of lady bugs and flies but they were not too much of an annoyance. Definitely needed poles but the Juniper Trail to Deer Flat and Mitchell Canyon Road heading back down was smooth and easy on the knees. Highly recommend going clockwise for this hike! And stay hydrated!
