Hiking Mt. Wilson

Trailhead:

Chantry Flat

Trail Conditions:

ROAD:

Bugs:

Snow:

This was my first peak to complete in the series. The weather was great while hiking, it was not too cold or to hot. However, once we reached the top, it was cold and a little windy. The last 2.5 miles of the hike were the hardest due to the very steep and rocky mountain. Nonetheless it was rewarding to be at the top. Since this was my first peak I have learned that I need to better prepare myself and eat a healthy and filling breakfast prior to hiking. This hike was a little over 14 miles and I felt hungry on my way up. I will look for a high protein meal for my next up coming hikes. This was a great acoplishment and I am thankful for finding such a great group of gals that love to hike and are brave enough to adventure with complete strangers.
