We started from parking about half mile from trail head. Started 7:17am, ended 11:35…however total actual time was 3:22, mileage 7.29, elevation 2205. Weather was between 55-60 degrees. We removed jackets about 1.5 miles into the hike. No breeze going up, slight breeze on the way down closer to the bottom. We did the upper trail when at the last approach to the pole. Saw a high school classmate (c/o ‘91) with his Boy Scout troop at the top. Coming down was a little concerning with the loose rock, I had a near miss on falling. We saw a picturesque blue-purple bird, cows running, and a cow crossed the trail with people very close. We feel good, tip of toes hurt (so be sure to clip your toe nails), little bit of hip flexor pain, a threat of cramp, but we were in very good spirits the whole way. This trail point is our preferred route.
