Whew! This was a worthy hike with many challenges. The beginning started off like a lovely stroll through the forest on a well groomed trail and soon turned into rock ridges and Boulder fields followed by unstable ashy sand to the top. Gloves would be handy for the sharp rocks and to protect your hands from blisters from white knuckling trekking poles. Ask me how I know ?
We labeled this climb ‘choose you’re own adventure’ since there wasn’t a clear marked trail once you were above the permitted portion of the hike. Just trail markers to guide you in the right direction.
The last less than a mile seemed to never end, gripping mightily to keep steady footing working our way up to the top. At last we made it and were rewarded with spectacular views on a sunny day.
