Started the trail at 7:20a and 50°. Perfect temp to start. However, it got very hot within a couple hours and after the shade went away it was scorching. The temp got to 90° by the time we finished the trail around 1145a. There were lots of gnats everywhere bring a net. I usually do well with 1-2 liters of water on most hikes. I guzzled 2 liters easy on this hike and wished I had more.
Some things to note- as we were parking There was a very large mountain lion strolling through the lot. Bathrooms were open but were very very bad. They did have port-a-potty’s that were decent.
