This was my first time at Mt. Woodson and Potato Chip Rock.  I liked it so much, I’ve already been back a 2nd time.  I was never too eager to hike there because I heard the line to get your picture on Potato Chip Rock was usually at least a 1 hour wait – ugh!  On the day I went, it was exceptionally hot. But up I went, and to my surprise, there was NO WAIT at Potato Chip!  I was the only person. Fortunately there were a couple people there just resting in the shade, so I asked one of them to take my picture.  There were no bugs. Tons of wildflowers. And since I went there on a Tuesday, Lake Poway was closed to all boating activities, so I had a quiet lake to rest at once I was done. I really enjoyed wading my tired feet in the cold lake water with all the ducks close by.  Great day!!!
