The hike up Hot Springs Mountain was beautiful. My friend, dog and I camped at the Los Coyotes trailhead the night before and started our hike around 9am. The morning was cold but peeled off most of our layers in the first hour of the hike. There is a good mix of shade and sun throughout the trail. We did not see any other hikers on the trail which wasn’t a huge surprise because we did it in the middle of the week. Gorgeous expansive views at the top. I was glad I had an encouraging friend with me because the ropes to get to the top made me pretty nervous. With that being said I could feel the anchors were very secure and the scramble was definitely worth it.
