One of my favorite SD Hikes! It’s like a beautiful enchanted forest after the fire-road. This was Peak 2 of the day, and Peak 3 of the weekend for us as we were trying to finish 3 peaks on one weekend. We ran into a small patch of snow but easy to move around it. Trail is well maintained and well defined.
The only thing is the ranger told us the gate would close at 6pm so we left like we had to rush up to make it down in time. Later we found the gate was still open at 7pm…
