Like others report, the first .8 mile was up, short .2 mile easy, then 1 mile up, on a wide fire trail, no problems, rest in the occasional shade if needed because it is exposed to the sun. After that you move into pine and cedar and bugs, have some bug spray and you are fine, enjoy the peace and beauty, the majestic trees have fallen, but some are standing stalwart against time, trail a nice easy go. Then up to the summit, loads of beautiful views, take your time and enjoy this summit, reaching the actual peak does take some extra effort, up a short ladder and rope, but once you are there you are rewarded with 360 degree views that make all your effort worthwhile. My favorite of the peaks this far, and I loved Cuyamaca.
