Took our pup Robin for her longest hike yet. Due to an accident on76 near Pala we had to turn around and reroute on the 79 through Temecula so we got a late (read warm) start. Lots of beautiful lilac, poppies and lupine in bloom plus all of the manzanita were dripping in their cute cup shaped blooms. Lots of cool native bees enjoying the buffet but also lots of annoying gnats that wanted to fly into your eyes and mouth. Pretty warm but a nice cool breeze kept it from being too bad drank all 3 liters from my water bladder plus the 2 20 oz bottles of hydration mix. The walk through the forrest of oak, cedar and pines at the top 1/3 of this hike makes it o e of my favorites due to the intoxicating scent and cool shade.
