Day 3… Total body soreness! 3 Peaks done, 3 to go!

As we drove to Flatiron, it was very daunting to say the least, it was very big and we were very sore! We got our minds right, we took our time, and we enjoyed EVERY BIT of that hike! My cousin comes in at 6'4″, my best friend 6′, and I come in at 5'4″ and it was very challenging for each of us to navigate going up and coming down. It sure was FUN!

Today we all realized that the word and definition of Challenging is all relative. Two of us live in Tulsa, OK where it is very flat and my cousin is from Detroit, MI, not very mountainous. On our way up we see a gentleman hustling up with a phone in one hand and an orange in the other, that was it! He flies past us and heads on up. Through out our hike we can spot him on the mountain because of his neon yellow pants. We were in amazement!!! He makes it to the top and heads back down, he passes by us again as we are only 3/4 the way up… how freaking amazing!!!

On the way up, I was basically hugging rocks at one point because my leg length was a bit shorter for some of the steps needed. On the way down, I was basically skiing with short steps and hips needing to shift back and forth to change direction often. That was very fun and made this hike very special! Probably one of my all-time favorite hikes I've ever been on! 🙂
