This was my first big hike of the season and let me tell you, it kicked my ass! I went with a friend who is in slightly better shape than I am and with my dog, a one-year-old lab who loves nature. It was tougher than I expected but luckily we were prepared and I’m so proud that we did it. we had plenty of water but I wish we had brought lunch or a snack to rest with at one of the peaks! The incline does get pretty steep in places and you really have to work for it! We made pretty good time, about three hours, and the next day my feet were killing me.
The trail was in great condition and we could not of asked for better weather, it was about 75° with overcast and a breeze. Some of the trail markers could use a fresh coat of paint, there were a few moments where we were kind of wandering around looking for a marker, but otherwise as an absolutely beautiful day and great hike.
Even in the middle of the day on a Wednesday we were not alone on the trail and saw several other pairs of hikers.
