Made it to the Red Box trailhead just before 7am; only a few cars already there. It was about 40F when I started, and very windy! I kept my puffy jacket almost the whole hike; I usually strip layers down after about a mile. The wind chill was no joke!
Overall great hike. I’m pretty sure it is 8.5miles not 7.5miles. There are at least three false peaks and there are some very steep spots. I’m glad I took my poles for the way down. I would not do this hike without poles.
