I didn’t get blown off San Bernardino Peak!

Hit the trail at 6:30. Gorgeous day for a hike, but EXTREMELY windy nearing the top. We were holding onto our hats for dear life and we legitimately thought someone would get blown right off the side. Thankfully, we all managed to stay on the ground.
Started off strong, keeping a swift pace. Towards the top though, I slowed down massively. My friend Emma was sweet to stay back with me. I’m not sure if it was the altitude or the lack of sleep I had the night before (do not attempt a peak on an hour and a half of sleep!). Likely a mix of both, but I slowly made the last 500ft climb and submitted around 11am. Snapped some quick shots, dropped a rehydration tab in my water and took a 30 min nap. Game changer than nap was! I awoke a new woman and we charged down that mountain in no time. Leaving the peak at noon we made it back to the lot at 3. Absolutely loved this hike and, although it was the longest we’ve done so far, I found it to be one of the most enjoyable.
