What a gorgeous day! It was 73 degrees and sunny, perfect perfect perfect. This hike is so cool – it's shaded with oak and madrone most of the way, the trails are maintained incredibly well, and the wildflowers are still going strong. We saw alligator lizards, a chipmunk! and the highlight was we got buzzed by an Anna's hummingbird at the top. This is my first hike out of the sixpack, and is a very strong start. I'd like to try it again, only this time starting at the trailhead below the Bald Mtn. trailhead, and hike up the Woodland Trail. That adds about 4 miles and another couple thousand feet elevation gain – so that would be a whole day two-car thing, as there's no camping, and, I'm not that fast! All in all, 10/10 recommend.
