This hike was done on Memorial Day.

I got to the parking lot at around 7:00am. I can see the trees swaying and when I stepped out of the car to use the toilet, I knew this hike was going to be a cold one.

The rest of the people from my group arrived around 7:35 and then we were off to start hiking just before 8am. I was extremely excited for this one as this is my first time on this trail. Not expecting much, I really started getting a liking to this hike: noticing all the beautiful trees around us.. I especially loved the well-developed trail where I did not have to step up or down on a rock!! Didn’t care much about the 40 switchbacks I kept hearing about for the ascent was a pretty steady incline.

Wind started picking up after the 2nd mile and all the way up to the peak. I loved how open the too was! Sooo many places to explore and not be in anybody else’s way.

We spent close to 2 hours up top due to waiting for 2 of the last hikers in our group and eating our food before taking pics with the sign.  This hike easily became a favorite of mine; although, given a difficult/hard raiting on All Trails. It did not feel difficult to me at all; most likely due to the view on the way up.

It took us about an hour and a half to get down where we took more pics before leaving.

I highly recommend this as an elevation training for those looking for a nice, moderate trail. Can’t wait to go back here and take more family and friends with me!!
