Started hike around 8AM, and there were enough parking on the side of the road. There are four portable restrooms right at the start of the trailhead which are very clean. We hiked up the Five Oaks trailhead which had great photo opportunities and great views of the town, we were not able to see Catalina Island due to being a cloudy day. There were many wild flowers and a field full of poppy flowers along the trail! At the top of the peak, there was a bench where we sat and had a snack. On our way back we took the main trail down, which I preferred the pedestrian path. Before leaving the town of Julian, we stopped by at Julian Pie Co. and had a warm slice of apple pie with ice cream for breakfast! This is a total must try before you head back home!!
