Strong winds made the drive a bit rough due to a lot of lose gravel and rocks constantly falling. Not too horrible… my little honda civic managed to make it to the top.

The hike was a bit challenging the first and last couple of miles because of the snow. Highly recommend using trekking poles and microspikes. I finished the 14.5 mile hike in 7 hrs including breaks. As stated by others, walking across the river is required but not difficult, it's just a little splash. The cold weather didn't impact the atmosphere, in fact the sun hit hard a few times throughout the trail.

  1. FYI the visitor parking closest to the hike is closed but parking is allowed along the edge of the antennas as long as they don't block the main black gate.
