Strong winds made the drive a bit rough due to a lot of lose gravel and rocks constantly falling. Not too horrible… my little honda civic managed to make it to the top.
The hike was a bit challenging the first and last couple of miles because of the snow. Highly recommend using trekking poles and microspikes. I finished the 14.5 mile hike in 7 hrs including breaks. As stated by others, walking across the river is required but not difficult, it's just a little splash. The cold weather didn't impact the atmosphere, in fact the sun hit hard a few times throughout the trail.
- FYI the visitor parking closest to the hike is closed but parking is allowed along the edge of the antennas as long as they don't block the main black gate.
