The late afternoon hike started out easy and beautiful as we walked through the woods. Came across some snow, list the trail, but then found it again. Skipped Little Belknap. Hike became a real challenge for me when we passed the tree line and progressed up the face to the top. But once we hit the summit we saw an amazing sunset over the valley, my fears disappeared. Incredible view and my favorite hike of all. The lava beds also were challenging in the dark as we returned to our cars.
