I did Azalea Glen > Conejos Trail > Fire Road to Cuyamaca Peak.

Azalea Glen was absolutely beautiful. You walk along a small creek and everything was a deep green. My 4 & 6 year olds did the first mile of this with me. Then, I split off with just the baby on my back and headed up while.my husband took the other kids back to the campground.

The Conejos Trail was….. wet. Over half of the trail was more or less a creek. It seems that the snowmelt runoff chose the path of least resistance and is coming directly down the rocky trail.

I'm definitely glad that I went the route I did, because I would have not enjoyed going UP the paved fire road. It was really nice for watching the sunset and the sky change colors behind Stonewall Peak on the way back down, though.

I didn't get any good pictures at the top because it was completely cloud covered and the baby was getting grouchy so we turned around pretty quick.
