This hike was INSANE! Not at all what I expected. It was less of an actual hike and more rock climbing. I found that it was not so much of a mental challenge of feeling the need to quit, but rather to keep moving my legs, body, and lifting myself over boulders.
We started at 6:45 am and the hike up was shaded and comfortable. When we made it to the top at 9:45, the sun was out and warming up. As we headed down, the sun was hot, bugs were swarming and crawling. We saw many lizards on the way down!
As for the trail conditions, I would say they are difficult to navigate. there are different paths you can take to get to the top. Some are easier than others and are not stated clearly which are which. There are supposed to be spray-painted arrows and dots on the rocks to help guide you; however, these were not well seen.
