Sometimes . . . you need to be boosted and in turn without really knowing, boost others . . .
Sat 1-15 El Cajon Mountain trail. Agreed to go to hike El Cajon friday night with my friend and her friend . . . Sat morn, I was hesitant because 1: its raining 2: El Cajon is one of the hardest hikes in San Diego. I committed so I went…The hike was wet, cold, windy, at times beautiful…when we got to the summit, my friends rested to catch their breath and eat a snack . . we had a hard deadline of 5pm because we saw signs that the parking lot gates would be locked at 5pm sharp. . . As we neared the finish, our feel hurt, our knees were sore, and the quads screamed from the relentless steep down and ups … Both of my friends make remarks that really made me feel good:
‘I would not have come unless you two said you would go with me. I would never try this on my own'
‘ I am glad you came: I would have given up early on'
The rockstar of the hike? Lylah the dog..8 years old and loves hiking. Later I found that this was Lylah's longest hike and her owners first time hiking in the rain….
