I started around 6:45AM and there were several other groups starting too. I was able to get by them in the first 1.5 and set a good pace until the elevation hit me after mile 5 and I slowed down. I summited around 11:15 and stayed at the summit and hut for a little less than an hour. Sunny but windy at the summit! Cool to meet a guy to trail ran the cactus to clouds. I’m slower on the downhill from a wonky knee but got to my car by 3:30. Met a lovely solo female backpacker who was spending a night at a campsite. It was her first backpacking experience and I hope she stays safe! Glad that I saved this for last instead of San Gorgonio, despite the elevation gain it was much easier and very joyful! Very happy I joined this challenge 🙂
