I desperately needed to escape June gloom, giving me the perfect excuse to drive out east and hike San Diego’s highest peak. I really loved this one! The trail was tough and steep, particularly at the beginning, but it was a nice challenge. We started at 7am and the skies were clear throughout. Some wildflowers were still in bloom too. Views at the summit were stunning and it was fun little scramble to the top. Only negative was the consistent presence of gnats and flies. Would love to explore this area again.
