Seems I had one more challenge hike left in me this year. I joined up with my good friend Sierra and her baby “Cash” as Sierra completed her 6th Peak of the San Diego Six Pack of Peaks Challenge. Our plan was to meet around 9:30am and take the quickest route up and down, since Sierra and Cash had hiked Hot Springs the day before. Not an easy task while carrying a pack full of water, food, and baby bottles, and an almost 4-month-old baby.

I purposely arrived early (around 7:30am) so I could get in a few extra miles doing Stonewall Peak before our hike up the Lookout Road to Cuyamaca Peak. Stonewall Peak is about a 4 mile out and back and is located directly across the highway from the State Park parking lot. Round trip for me, Stonewall and Cuyamaca Peaks equaled 9.68 miles and 2,559 feet in elevation gain. This was my 51st and last peak from the Six Pack of Peaks Challenges in 2023.
