We started the hike around 9am. The weather started off beautiful in the mid 70's but the clouds rolled in as we neared the summit and then the rain started. It sprinkled on and off but since we were prepared it was never an issue. The wildflowers were pretty and contrasted nicely against the blackened trunks of the trees from a previous wildfire. The butterflies were making a strong showing as well as well as a western tanager to add more color to the scenery. We thoroughly enjoyed the hike even with the rain.
