I don’t know if it’s the most difficult hike in San Diego as everyone claims, but it is a challenging hike. The weather was perfect for our hike. It was clear and a high of 70 degrees. I don’t think I would hike this with temperatures above 75 degrees. There is zero shade and you are exposed the entire time. Bring at least 3 liters of water. I went through 2 1/2 liters and the temperature did not go above 70 degrees. But we finished!
