Hike started cold, partly cloudy and windy. We took the fire road up. It was steep and a bit of a grind. The wind was so strong it was holding us back and went straight through my clothing. I ended up putting my rain coat on and that worked as a great wind breaker. We made it to the top in good time. The wind at the top was knocking ice off the trees. I was awesome to see the clouds being blown right past you. Got a few photos at the top and headed back. Took the Loop trail back down. It was muddy due to the snow melting. Parts of the trail back had turned into a small stream due to the snow melt and weather. It wasn't too bad. Didn't get my feet to wet. Over all a great hike with a friend. Going up the fire road is a grind and a good workout. The trail had great views and was easy on the knees.
