Our group decided to meet up at 6am at the Ice House Canyon Trailhead. It was a good thing we did because the parking lot filled up shortly after we arrived. This trail has such a variety of things to see. We hiked along Icehouse Creek. We hiked past some ruins. We hiked past some cool rocks. We reached the Icehouse Saddle and spent some time there to rest and refuel and enjoy the views. We hiked past an abandoned mine shaft. We climbed adjacent to the mine shaft to a small alcove. We hiked to another saddle and enjoyed the breeze. After a bit more climbing, we reach the peak. We initially went towards where the crowd of people was standing to take pictures. We took our ‘peak' photos then sat and refueled. Then someone said that the peak was actually on the other side. Where we took our pictures was where the flag used to be. After we regrouped, we headed over to the true peak to take some photos before heading down. When we got back to the creek, we made a quick stop to take some pics and one of our friends went for a dunk! Fortunately, we were about a mile from the car and her change of clothes. What a day!
