So psyched for the last hike! Hiked Washington earlier in the day, so the bar was set high, but this hike did not disappoint! Views from the top are fantastic and there are lots of places to stop and take in all the beauty. It was a partly cloudy day, although by the time I got to the top, clouds started rolling in and the winds picked up. Glad I brought layers. No bugs. Up Old Bridle and Down Falling Waters. I think no matter which way you go up or down it is going to be challenging, but one thing to consider is that on the Falling Waters portion the trail will cross the water several times (rock hopping)…so if you fall in, you'll have wet shoes for the rest of your hike. Clocked in at 8.54 miles and 4:30 , but that was with a little running and a picked up hiking pace. Would love to do this hike again as well as some of the other trails south and on the west side of 93.
This was an incredible experience. If you are reading this thinking of doing the challenge…just do it. The feelings you get after getting to the top of any of these mountains…it's so worth it. Whether it be solo, with a friend or with a group, going through the challenge of getting to the top and then getting to soak in how vast and beautiful it is, is priceless. Happy hiking!
