We drove up to Idyllwild on Saturday and camped at a campground overnight to be closer to the trailhead for our hike on Sunday. We started at 7am from the Humber Park/Devil's Slide Trailhead. This route was very enjoyable and much easier with less climbing than the Marion Mountain route which I have done many times backpacking.

Plenty of water along the trail to resupply if needed near Wellman Divide and bright green fern growth all over the mountain. On the way to the summit we made a side trip and bagged Morris Peak real quick. We had to battle the light rain that fell on and off throughout the day. I had to change my layers several times due to the weather but thunderstorms never developed to be too concerned. By the end of the day the sun peeked out it was a great way to finish the hike.
