Monday 9/18 – Day 2 of 6, hike 2 of 6. Alan Peak was a really nice trail with good elevation, and it is definitely not short. I had never seen the Montana de Oro State Pak, but there are a lot of trails in the area.
There was lots of parking available in the lots, especially as I had an early start to enjoy the marine layer. With that can come with a little confusion as to which way to go if you are All Trails Map challenged like me. There are a couple of intersections that you would think you should go one way, but the trail tells you to go a different route. There are some really smooth dirt parts to this hike as well as some rocky sections. Did not see any other hikers but did see a lot of lizards. Added the Bluff trail at the end to get a closer look at the beautiful coastline.
Looking forward to heading back to this spot for Hazard Peak tomorrow.
