This was my second peak this season, got there at 645, and the lot was full, had to park about a mile from the parking lot, along with doing the full loop this time and taking high creek back the total hike was close to 18 miles. The bugs made stopping not fun, and don't get the bug spray “off” as it did not work well. Temperature was great, many poppies. I would take high creek back as it adds to the view, although it seemed much longer than a extra mile. The avocado sandwich at the top was great, and met many very nice people on the trail going up, and almost no one going down winter creek. A great as with all these.
