Left the house at 6:15 am and the temperature was 64F to drive to the Ochoco National Forest to climb Lookout Mountain, ~63250. Wanted to beat the heat for 2,500 gain and 8 mile roundtrip. Thankfully I was in the trees for most of it and ended up running down. Back to the house at 12:15 and the temperature was 95F. Beautiful! 2 down 4 to go. The lupine was waist high and so much was in bloom. I saw the snow shelter but must have been heads down and did not detour to see the abandoned mine.
