There's a building on the right of the fire station. Parking for the trail is there. Sign is there in lot. Plenty of space. When I got there, 2nd car only. If you have trash, a trash can is surprisingly at the 0.5 mile mark. The 0.5-2.0 mile mark is single path with constant incline. What makes this tough are the rocks, even got 2 blisters when I got home. After 2.0 mile mark, all “fireroad” not paved, but dirt road. Wide enough for each person to stand on each side, which is what me and another hiker I met up at summit did, plus she had a dog with her. After 3.0, snow patches are present. Got to even be super muddy from all the snow melting. After mile 5.5, more snow if lucky, no snow on some patches. Trail markers along the way through. Just be careful on the way back, theres a 5 point intersection, we got lost 2 times before noticing a small path between 2 wide roads. Could use a marker here. When we got to summit, got to meet one of the workers who looks after the tower. He is actually closing up the tower til May. He showed us the fuel stick mechanism and a Bronson (fire and forest boundaries. Very educational and very nice. I was 2nd person, made friends with the 1st person up there with her dog. As we hiked down, another couple came up. But that was it for people wise. Perhaps since it was Super Sunday and that's why no one showed up lol.
