With the sunny yet a bit cold weather, it was a beautiful walk through small patches of snow, a frosty bridge, and up the stream path with running water. Started with Ann early at 7:40 ish am so there was no ranger to issue a parking ticket and the machine was not working. Following the instructions we left the note to pay upon exit. Which we promptly did.
Not many people going up. Many more coming as we were descending via the fire road.
The views from the top are gorgeous. We spent some time there taking pictures and practicing Spanish with two other hiking girls. And since we had a goal to finish by 11 am, most of the way down we ran super fast (or at least it felt like it). Total time spent hiking 3:24. Made it to the car just before 11 passing 2 other ladies who seemed to have the same plan… Tackling another peak on the same day. More on that in my Volcan report 🙂
