Beautiful hike! Took about 4 hours round trip totaling approx. 13 miles, 3,171 ft. elevation gain. The gate along highway 58 was closed upon arrival, so we accessed the north side of the campground near the Mt. Fuji trailhead. I’d say the landscape features were a mixture of Black Butte & Mount Bachelor with some unique features all of its own, including Rhododendrons. The trail was excellent, well travelled, maintained, and very little distance with loose rubble. I suspect the trail is swept of most rocks due to the high mountain bike traffic. Great views of surrounding popular lakes and peaks, such as Wickiup & Crane Reservoir, Diamond Peak, and even the north side of Willamette Pass Ski Area to name a few.
